The BBB

We made the switch on Sunday night to Luke's big boy bed and so far he's doing great. He woke up around 4:00 for two nights but quickly went back to sleep without trying to get out of the bed and last night he slept perfectly! I think we're safe to say he's officially moved over! Yay, Luke. Sunday was an emotional night for me because he looked so big and it seemed like such a big milestone! Thankfully we have our baby girl coming in August! :)

Spring is springing!

I don't know that I would say spring has "sprung" just yet but it's definitely "springing." Except tomorrow we are supposed to get into the 70s. I think I'll feel like I'm in heaven! :) We have spent every afternoon and evening playing in the backyard for the last couple of weeks. I can tell we are all much happier when we get some fresh air and Luke can't get enough of the swing set and sandbox!

Digging is serious business around here.
He was saying "I go super fast!"

Kirby Dog

As you all know we got Kirby back in September, back when I posted cute puppy pictures quite often. Well, sadly Michael pointed out she has not made the blog since then. So, here is an ode to "Kirby Dog" as we lovingly call her.

She really is a great dog and Luke absolutely LOVES her! For that I am grateful because not a day goes by where he doesn't get knocked to the ground numerous times by her. :) She loves being outside, even in the snow, so that makes it easier when she gets a little too rowdy with Luke. She obeys pretty well and aside from taking Luke's socks off all the time and occasionally sneaking a bite of his food (mostly when he's taunting her) she does really well. We sure are glad she's part of our family.
Michael's been working with her on her fetch.
She loves her bucket and spends hours out there "wrestling" it.
They're buds I tell ya.
Pretty girl

Eggs!

First of all, I still can't believe we get to do pink now! In celebration I will be leaving the blog background for a while! :) I hope you like pink. I couldn't stop crying today at church thinking of how awesome our God is for forming this perfect little princess inside of me and for blessing our family with both a boy and a girl! I seriously can't wait to meet her.

Anyways, on to the point of my post. We went to a neighborhood playgroup Easter egg hunt with our good friends, the Tenhaves, today after church and as you can see Luke loved it! At first he wasn't sure what to do about the eggs but he caught on quickly and was not ready to stop when we had collected our share of them. His buddy Cash was there and as soon as we got there Cash told his Daddy, "Daddy, this is my friend Luke!" I thought it was so sweet. I love that they are already such good friends at such a young age.

They were not happy we made them stop digging into their baskets to take a picture.

Time to go shopping! :)

Since Michael's on-call today we got to run up to the hospital a little earlier to have another ultrasound done by a friend and found out IT'S A GIRL!!!! She had flipped around and still had her legs crossed but we were able to get a few good shots to see she definitely didn't have the "boy parts." We are thrilled and my head is already spinning thinking of all the shopping I get to do now. :) We get to do baby dolls, gymnastics, and dress-up!! I'm so excited. AND, I'll have a little partner in crime to go shopping with and get our nails done when she's older. Michael's in trouble. Thanks for all your prayers! We are thankful. Now we just can't wait to meet her in August.

Surprise!

We've got a stubborn one on our hands. Just wanted to put a quick update on here for those that are checking. We saw our sweet baby today and it looked perfectly healthy (Praise the Lord) but the stubborn little bug WOULD NOT open it's legs to let us see what it was. The ultrasound tech spent a good 45 minutes with us and poked and prodded at our little babe and the more prodding she did the tighter the legs got. She said she wouldn't even feel comfortable making a guess. We're hoping to get another ultrasound done soon but for now the gender will remain a mystery. Sorry to disappoint but hopefully it will be revealed soon. Little booger. :)

Take a guess

Can't believe it, but we find out the sex of the new babe on Friday! I'll be 20 weeks which is also hard to believe. This pregnancy is really flying by and is only going to go faster as this summer approaches. I added a poll to the top right for you all to take a guess at what you think this little one is. We'll announce the news on Friday evening. Don't be shy. I'd love to see what you all think. :)

Nemo

A while back we went to a hockey game with some friends who have a two year old son also and saw an advertisement for Disney on Ice "Finding Nemo" and decided we had to take our boys. I was a little nervous about how Luke would do sitting still and quiet for two hours since we've never even tried taking him to a movie but he did AWESOME. The show was so entertaining so there was no trouble keeping his attention. Luke and Ethan are only weeks apart so it was so cute to watch them dance and clap together. Luke's favorite part was the beginning and the end where Mickey, Minne, Goofy, and Donald came out as the hosts. Go figure. :)

As we were leaving the boys did this on their own. Buds! :)

Butterflies

We have had some AWESOME weather this week getting all the way into the 60's so we took advantage and went over to the butterfly exhibit at Meijer gardens. Michael even had the afternoon off so he was able to join us. I am so excited about all the fun I'm sure we'll have this summer and this was a great start. Luke got really excited when the butterflies flew close to him. That's what he's doing in the middle picture.

"Aunt Isa and Uncle Danul"s Visit

We had a fun filled weekend with Lisa and Daniel in town to kick off their Spring Break 2010 trip. For Christmas Daniel gave Lisa tickets for both of them to come up and see us! How sweet is that? The only bummer of the whole weekend was the weather. It was cloudy and drizzled the majority of the time but we didn't let it stop us!

Some highlights included: brunch at Wolfgang's, dinner at Rose's, shuffleboard at the BOB, a little shopping for the girls, a little fishing and skeet shooting for the guys, and we couldn't miss a trip out to Holland and a picture by the lakeshore and "Big Red." We are missing them a ton already and Luke is especially sad his playmates are gone. At least we'll be seeing them a lot this summer for the wedding festivities! We love you guys.

Texas sized fun!

We've been back home since Monday but I am just now loading pictures from our trip to Texas and realized I needed to post about our trip! Luke was a champion traveler this time and slept pretty much the entire flight both ways. Praise the Lord! He was a little under the weather at the beginning of our time there but livened up and didn't let it slow him down too much with all the extra playmates he had.

We had a blast just hanging out and enjoying the awesome weather. It snowed a tiny bit the day after we got there which is totally bizarre for Houston, but apparently not this year. I felt like we brought it with us but the rest of the week turned out to be pretty much perfect weather and we were just happy to be able to play outside without heavy coats. We also got to swim at DeeDee and Billy's house and also with Nana and Papa at their cool new work out place! Luke's swim lessons definitely paid off and he loved showing off his skills to everyone.

It was great to see everyone and I am always amazed at how it feels like we never even left. I love that. Miss you guys and I'm already looking forward to our next visit.
