Some sunshine before the rain

At the end of September Michael and I had the chance to travel to Lyon, France so he could attend the Scoliosis Research Society annual meeting.   It has been hard to look at these pictures until very recently because all I could think of was the fact that we were blissfully unaware of the roller coaster we were about to go on.  Looking back it could not have been a more timely trip for the two of us to get away together.  Here's a recap of our adventure:

On a jog being tourists :)

In the heart of Lyon on an evening stroll

The food in Lyon was the best we've ever had. This was us at our favorite restaurant of the trip.
We took a day trip to Annecy
It was quite a picturesque little town.

The next day we took off on a French/Swiss road trip.

Our first stop was Geneva, Switzerland.
He picked up a pretty obnoxious habit in Hong Kong  ;)
 And apparently it dies hard.
Then we continued on to Chamonix in the heart of the French Alps.
We did a little bike riding
And some ice cave touring
Who's with that guy? ;)

Then we took off on a loooong hike to see Mt. Blanc

All the while the kids were in GREAT hands with DeeDee...

And then handed over to Nana and Papa.
I don't think they missed us a bit. :)
We are beyond blessed with the best grandparents in the world!

It seems like this trip was a life time ago but I'm so thankful the Lord had this bit of sunshine planned before the rain came.
