Let it snow

Last weekend we woke up to the first real snow fall of the year and it wasn't more than 30 minutes before the kids had their snow gear on and were headed out to play.  I am so surprised by how much Luke loves the cold and snow.  He's going to be the heartiest of us all by the time we head south.

Still my baby.
This one was a little hesitant

He stayed out there forever just playing by himself.

Then we came in and made this.   Which was way too much work for this momma.  Maybe next year will be easier.  It was a fun winter day.

Oh Christmas tree

Last year we weren't able to keep with tradition and go "tree hunting" because of Michael's schedule and the weather, but this year was a success.   This has to be one of my favorite Christmas traditions we have started, I just wonder what it will be like chopping one down in shorts when we are back in Texas.  :)  For now I'll enjoy true winter weather for the season.   Not that we're having a ton of snow this year though.

3-0

Say it isn't so.  Not the big 3-0.  :)  Michael's birthday was last week and we celebrated "Michael style," per his request, and went pheasant hunting with a bunch of his friends from the residency.  He had been asking for me to go hunting with him for quite a while too, so I tagged along, and I have to admit it was really fun.

Here are some pics from a fun day.  We also went out for dinner with friends on his official birthday but I failed to take any pictures.  Happy birthday, Michael.  You are loved by many.  Especially us.

Luke insisted on having a party for Michael so we did it up right with balloons and streamers.  We love birthdays in this house.
