Playtime

Happy boy
It looks like they're having a chat.

He's officially on the move. Today he was rolling/scooting all over the place, so much that I think we may need to "baby proof" soon. I didn't think this would come for a while. I got up to get some lunch today with him under his activity gym and looked back and he had rolled under the changing table (onto concrete, but he didn't seem to mind) and he's currently under the swing. Here's proof:

Hey mom.

Reading time with Dad

Aunt Lisa will especially like this. Luke and Michael were reading a really cute book the other night and I had to snap a pic. I am amazed that Luke actually pays attention when we read to him.

My bonding boys (Look how he's holding the book)

Surfin'

We headed down to the beach with some friends yesterday to try and "catch some waves." Well, Michael and Chad really did , but Amy, Luke and I had fun on the beach. (We tried it a tiny bit but surfing is just not my favorite thing.)

Here's what Luke thought of the waves:

First Bites

We tried rice cereal after the doctor's appointment yesterday. Luke's not quite sure about eating from a spoon yet but we had fun with it.

Yummy

Luke's latest stats

We went for his four month check up yesterday and we have one healthy boy!

weight: 15lbs. 14oz.
length: 25 in.

That puts him in the 60th percentile for weight and 50th for length. Pretty proportional I have to say.

The shots were sad again, but this time he only cried for a second. He took them like a tough little guy. Way to go Lukey! :) I'm sure not too many people care about this (except maybe the grammas) but this works as a great place for me to document "milestones."

I tried to load some videos yesterday but it seriously takes forever! I will try to get Michael's help so you can see Lukey rolling over. He is currently trying really hard but he gets almost over and then falls back fast, hits his head on the rug and screams. Poor baby.

Proof!

This is how I found him in the crib this morning. He's been rolling over a ton during the day but it just really surprised me to find him like this, fast asleep. He's changing way too fast!

Hook 'Em Horns

We headed to Austin this weekend for Aunt Lisa's graduation from UT. She will be staying in Austin to teach fourth grade next year-yay Lisa! I had Luke decked out in his Longhorn gear for the ceremony but of course he had a blow-out before we got there. Why does that always happen?

I also got to see a few of my sorority sisters on Saturday for brunch and introduce Luke to them. Sadly we didn't take a picture, but boy do I miss those girls.

Michael had to stay here because he had to work so we really missed him. Had to add some pictures of Luke's third trip to the pool. :) Still not sure how he likes it, but we got a life jacket for the boat and wanted to try it out.

New happenings

So last night Michael and I were watching reruns of the Office while Luke was playing with his little activity gym. We both looked down after a little bit and he was on his tummy! He had rolled from his back to his tummy all by himself. He's been going from tummy to back for quite a while but now he's got it both ways. Not sure if it was a fluke because he hasn't done it again but either way, we were really proud!

Then I was getting his jammies on and started blowing raspberries on his tummy and he started laughing! We called Michael in and they had a giggle fest. It was too cute. I wanted to get the video camera but since he didn't have a diaper on yet I had to wait and by the time we got him out of the nude he stopped the laughs. It was quite an exciting night. I will try to catch both on video and put it up.

Becoming a WOMAN

So what event has to take place before considering yourself a woman? Is it getting married, paying a mortgage, having a job, having a baby?? Eventhough I'm a Mommy now, I absolutely don't feel like a woman. I thought maybe my first Mother's Day would make me feel more like one, but it didn't. Oh well- I'm a Mommy, but not a woman yet and I'm okay with that. :)

We had a really fun Mother's Day weekend. I'll recap for you:

Saturday morning Michael and Luke made me breakfast in bed. (Well Luke didn't do a whole lot, but he came in with Daddy to wake me at a nice and early 6:45) They made my favorite- french toast and hot syrup!! Luke and I headed out to my friend Kelly's for a mother's day brunch for our mom's and grandma's. (Maybe hosting a Mother's Day Brunch makes you a woman. What do you think Kelly? It was lovely by the way!) We celebrated that afternoon with my mom and sister's. We stopped by to see Millie (Michael's mom) and wish her a happy mother's day too.

Sunday Michael had to work early, but he came home just in the nick of time for church. I was most looking forward to our pastor having all of the mother's stand up, but sadly he didn't do it. We took Luke to the pool for the first time that afternoon. (He didn't know what to think.) That evening Craig and Val came over to watch Luke so Michael and I could go on a date. He took me out for sushi since it's my favorite and I haven't had it since before I was pregnant. It was as good as I remembered! Luke was great for Val and Craig and they were super sweet to come and watch him.

Here is the recap in pictures:

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mommies out there. Thank you to my mom and mom-in-law for all you do!

I heard this quote the other day and thought it was oh so true. I love you mom.

Your Mother is your first friend,
Your best Friend,
Your forever Friend.

Lukey blue eyes

We headed out to The Woodlands again this weekend to see Michael's brother Jono and his girlfriend, Stephanie, but I forgot my camera. I told Michael, "No camera=no blog posts" but Luke and I had a photoshoot this morning. I thought these were pretty good.

He's doing some funny things with his mouth these days and drooling like crazy. Both Friday night and Saturday he was super fussy so I'm beginning to think he's teething. This would be pretty early, but we will see.

We also went to a friend's baby shower (at my mom's house) and got to see Luke's future buddy Dylan. I was sad we didn't get any pictures but Dylan is exactly a month older than Luke so it was fun to watch them stare at each other.
