playin'

We have been spending the afternoons in our bathing suits since we got back from vacation because our ac is in need of some repairs.  We hadn't had to turn it on yet since the weather was so cool when we first moved in but that's not the case anymore.  It's a pretty new unit so I hope it just needs some tuning up.  Oh the joys.

Anyways, the three companies I called today all said the same thing. "We can't have anyone out there till Monday!"  "Why is that?" I kindly reply.  "Being the first heat spell of the summer we have been inundated with calls."  "Well perfect. Sign me up for Monday then, when the high will be back in the 70's."  :)

Feeling sorry for Luke we packed up this afternoon and went to Toys R Us for an (don't laugh) inflatable pool.  I felt pretty funny buying it for some reason but he LOVES it.  We spent the rest of the day in it.  $19 well spent.

Fladah- as Grams would say it

The second leg of our trip was to Indian Rocks Beach, FL for a family reunion with my mom's side.  Grams (my mom's mom) lives there so she treated us all to these cute little bungalows close by her condo.   We played by the pool or on the beach pretty much the entire time unless we were eating or napping.  :) What a life?  It was so relaxing and wonderful to see everyone.  Lots of girl time was had catching up and playing with Luke since Michael wasn't able to join us.  But we missed him tons of course.  My cousin Nic was there with her son Jackson so Luke had a buddy to play with which was great!   I am already missing my fam so much but had tons of fun the whole trip.  Love love.

Vancouver Island, Canada

The first stop on our "coast to coast tour" was Vancouver Island so I thought I'd recap that one first.  It was so beautiful and we had a wonderful time with Michael's family.  Just a few ways we spent our time: playing golf, relaxing, playing poker, throwing rocks, finding sand dollars, and running marathons.

Oh, I didn't mean to brush over that last one so nonchalantly. No, I didn't run but Michael and Matthew did the whole and Jonothan, Robert, and Kellie ran the half!   They all did so great and I was so proud of how well Michael and Matthew finished.  They weren't nearly as wiped out as I thought they would be afterwards.   It made me want to do another one someday but certainly not in the too near future.

Michael's mom's parents came as well and it was so fun to spend some time with them.  Nanny is quite the poker player I might add.  :)   The whole trip was such a treat.

Here are some pics of our adventures.

Home again

We're back home after two weeks of traveling from coast to coast and to say I am beat would be an understatement.  It was so great to see everyone and I am missing them all like crazy already!

Michael wasn't able to come with us to Florida so it was so great to get back to him today, especially on Father's Day.  Luke was too tired for a Happy Father's Day post tonight.  ;) But we love you so much, Michael and are so thankful you are the Daddy in our family.

More about all the fun we had on the trips to come (maybe tomorrow when I take a break from unpacking and laundry, oh and playing with/caring for a crazy toddler).

For now - goodnight y'all.

Meijer Gardens and some randomness.

Today we went with some new friends to a neat place for those with kiddies in our neck of the woods.  The guys in Michael's program are all golfing today so Luke and I met up with one of the other wives and her kids for an outing.  I didn't get a ton of pictures, but they have some really neat places to get some cool shots there.  Yes, Luke is soaked in that last picture.  I should have taken a swim suit.  He got all the way in the boat water fountain thing and sat down.

Now on to the randomness:

1.  I am loving Christy Nockels new CD "Life Light Up." In Your Hands and By Our Love are my favs.  Though I really love all of them.

I love this... (you should seriously go listen to the song on itunes)

The time is now
Come Church arise...
Love with His hands
See with His eyes...
Bind it around you,
Let it never leave you,
And they will know us by our love...

2.  I am counting the days till we see our families -  Tuesday we will see Michael's and a week from Tuesday we will see mine.

3. I am also loving my new Shark Dustbuster. Every mom with a self-feeding toddler should invest in one of these.

That is all for now.

Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar??

Luke did!! And loved it.
