Big kid park

We went to a big kid park with our sweet neighbors yesterday evening and although I almost had a heart attack watching Luke climb up the big slides, he did great. He was so proud of himself after he finally mustered the courage to slide down. :) The middle picture says it all.

Lately

Michael has had a crazy schedule for the past week and half so Luke and I have had A LOT of playtime just the two of us. I'm not complaining about special time with my little bud but we sure do miss Daddy when he's gone so much!

Thankfully he is loving what he's doing and he definitely picks up the slack around here when he is off. I couldn't ask for a more loving and hardworking husband! :)

The first couple of pics are of Luke being goofy in the backyard.

Because I've had a few requests for a belly picture I decided to take matters into my own hands since Michael has been getting home when I'm already in my pajamas lately. :) I'll get a better one soon but thought I'd better document before I get even farther along.

23 weeks
And since I haven't made an official announcement about her name on here yet, we will be naming our sweet little girl Langley Grace Merrick! Since Michael and I got married we have both thought we would like to use my maiden name as a baby girl's name and we are so excited we get to use it for this sweet babe.

"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well." Psalm 139:13-14

That's all for now! :)

Look what we found behind our wreath....
A cute little robin decided our wreath was a nice place to lay her eggs this year. I was a little annoyed at first but I am now appreciating yet another sign of new life and Spring. Luke and I check on them every day to make sure they haven't hatched. Not sure how to tell when they are getting close but I'll be sure to post pictures when that happens.

Yeehaw

This boy sure loves his animals. It's evident by the way he loves on Kirby, but he especially loves some farm animals too. On Saturday Michael and Luke went out to the ranch of an attending Michael recently worked with while I went to a friend's baby shower. You can probably tell by the pictures Luke had a ball. Michael said he absolutely didn't want to get off the horse when it was time to leave but the last picture is what happened 30 seconds after they pulled out of the driveway to come home. :)

Michael's big catch

Michael caught his first big steelhead on the fly rod last week and to say he was excited would be quite the understatement. :) He and Luke ate it for dinner the following night and judging by how much Luke ate it must have been quite tasty. I decided to opt out this time for the baby's sake. :)

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend packed with sweet time with our little family and fun with friends. It is still hard to be so far away from our families on holidays but we were sure to continue some traditions we both grew up with as well as making some of our own which was fun! :) Hope you all had a Happy Easter too!

This is the bunny cake my family has been making since 1988! Crazy.
Dyeing eggs was fun with a two year old. :)
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave he rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine -
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

"Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!" Luke 24:5

The BBB

We made the switch on Sunday night to Luke's big boy bed and so far he's doing great. He woke up around 4:00 for two nights but quickly went back to sleep without trying to get out of the bed and last night he slept perfectly! I think we're safe to say he's officially moved over! Yay, Luke. Sunday was an emotional night for me because he looked so big and it seemed like such a big milestone! Thankfully we have our baby girl coming in August! :)
