Sunday Funday

We headed out to Saugatuck (a quaint little town about 45 minutes away) this afternoon after Michael woke up from his post-call haze.  What a treat!  It was the cutest little town and the clouds finally rolled away for us to enjoy an awesome 60 degree evening!  Here are some pics of our funday!

Aunt Val's here!!

Not much time to post because we are busy having fun, but we are so excited to have Val here to play.  Michael's on call today so I am so happy to have her here to spend some time with!  Luke is loving it too in case you can't tell by the pictures.  :)

the simple things...

are the most fun sometimes.   Luke has found the most random things to be fun toys lately and I am loving it!  So much for all those expensive toys, give this boy a fly swatter, a bowl, and a blanket tent and he's busy for hours.  It might be the age too, but he has gotten so good at playing by himself lately.  He still loves a playmate but it's nice to be able to empty the dishwasher without someone crawling up my legs.  :)

the new hair-do

I took Luke for a trim yesterday and as the girl was cutting it I was thinking "that's too short.  He doesn't look like a baby any more."  But I've already gotten used to it and think he looks pretty cute!  I think he thinks so too. :)

Luke's Avery

About thirty times a day (no lie) Luke says the name Avery.  He has also learned to answer the question "who is your girlfriend" with the same name.

We have made some really great friends here in Michigan already and I think it's safe to say Luke has his first "crush" on their youngest daughter Avery.   Matt (Avery's Dad) is a year ahead of Michael in the program and he and his wife have been so sweet to help us get plugged in to a great church that we already love and with playgroups and stuff to keep Luke and me busy.

We went swimming yesterday at a local pool and check out these pictures I got of these two!   Every time he sees her he walks right up and gives her a big hug and kiss.  :)

Holding hands
Going in for a kiss
Sweet hug.

Oh, and while we were home we were riding back from the lake and out of nowhere Luke says, you guessed it, Avery like he was truly missing her.  How sweet??  Matt may want to have a talk with Luke after seeing these pictures.  :)  Okay, maybe it's a little early for all of that but they sure are sweet together.

Home and back home

We're back home from The Woodlands and sadly I have no pictures to prove that we even went.   I didn't take my big camera, instead using my mom's the whole trip and when I went to upload them to my computer before leaving something bad happened and all of the pictures were deleted!  Sorry mom.

We had a wonderful time and I am missing everyone tons already.  It was so fun to just hang out together. I kept telling my mom and sisters that it felt like we never left.  I pray time together always feels that way.

Since pictures from riding in Billy's boat and on the inner tube, eating dirt cake for Jordan's birthday, playing at both grandma's houses, and lunch with gmommy and gdaddy are lost in the world of technology here are some pictures taken since we got back.

Love you all and thanks for such a wonderful trip HOME.  :)

when Daddy comes home

I can't really describe the look of delight on Luke's face when Michael comes home from work but this picture does a pretty good job.  All I have to say when I hear the garage open is "guess what Luke" and he runs to the back door squealing because he just knows DADDY'S HOME!  It stays this way for at least the first thirty minutes after he walks in the door.

They have such a sweet bond and there is no doubt that Daddy=fun!!  :)   As soon as Michael's had a second to catch his breath (and talk to me for a bit of course) they undoubtedly march upstairs to go wrestle and have a ticklefest on the bed.  It is the sweetest sound to my ears to hear the uncontrollable laughter that comes from both of them.   I pray that they always share such a sweet relationship.

And I just thought this one was cute.
